Linear Salsa Classes
New to salsa? Join our open-level Linear Salsa class on Wednesdays at 7:30 pm in Mayfield, Newcastle. Everyone’s welcome!
What is Linear Salsa?
Linear Salsa, also called LA-style, is a fun and energetic dance where partners move back and forth along a straight line, different from the circular movements you see in Cuban salsa. If you’re new to salsa, you might not know all the styles yet, but linear salsa is probably the one you picture when someone asks if you’ve danced salsa before.

It’s known for its smooth, back-and-forth steps combined with lots of quick footwork, making it both exciting and a little challenging. The great thing about linear salsa is that it’s popular worldwide, so once you learn it, you can dance it anywhere. Plus, it’s a style that you can enjoy and improve in for years to come!
Salsa classes for all ages and experience
Never danced salsa before? No problem! We welcome all ages and skill levels. Our small, friendly classes help you build confidence and learn at your own pace, whether you’re just starting out or have danced for years.

Join our open-level Linear Salsa class every Wednesday at 7:30pm, right after bachata! No partner needed, we mix and rotate partners so you get to dance with everyone and learn faster. It’s a fun way to pick up salsa and bachata in one night!
