What is Cuban Salsa?
Cuban Salsa, or Casino, is a lively, circular style of salsa that began in Cuba in the late 1950s. It’s all about connection, rhythm, and moving with the music. At Dance on Newy, we also offer Linear Salsa classes for those who enjoy a more straight-line style.

In our Cuban salsa classes, we start with the basics – technique, timing, and partner work – then add fun moves and styling to help you dance with confidence. Whether you’re a beginner or ready to level up, we make learning enjoyable and accessible. Grab your dance shoes and join us!
Beginner-Friendly and supportive environment
We believe everyone can dance, even those who think they have “two left feet”! Our small group classes are split into levels so beginners get focused attention, while experienced dancers can keep improving.

The classes run for one hour each, every Tuesday night in Mayfield, with Beginners (split into 1 and 2) and Intermediate-Advanced levels available. Private salsa classes are also available if you’d like one-on-one coaching.

No partner? No worries! We rotate partners so everyone learns both leading and following, but couples can stay together if they prefer. Our teachers have over 70 years of combined experience and a passion for making salsa fun, social, and welcoming.
